Just wanted to give a quick update on the work done on our Christmas 2012 game, internally named “Santa In Trouble”, or SIT for short.
“Santa In Trouble” has the same gameplay mechanics as our first game “Fruit Feast”, namely catching stuff falling from the sky. Other than that, they have quite some differences.
Most obvious is of course the graphic style, while “Fruit Feast” locations were in the jungle, “Santa In Trouble” takes place at the north pole.
The main difference in gameplay, is that “Santa In Trouble” will not rely on the predefined times (2, 5, or 10 minutes), but features an “endless” mode. Starting with 2 minutes the player can collect clocks to increase this time.
In “Fruit Feast” the player had only 3 lives; if he gets hit by a coconut there was no possibility to get that life back. “Santa In Trouble” we’ll have the heart power-up to further increase the play time. Additionally we implemented the Star power-up, which will collect all items on the screen, and the Speed power-up, which increases the speed of Santa.
“Santa In Trouble” will have at least 5 levels, we’re not sure yet if we include day/night versions of all levels. Of course it will have Christmas music and is targeted at kids.
“Santa In Trouble” is to be released in the first half of December.
